James Beard-nominated chef, culinary pioneer, and disruptor.
After completing his formal training at the Institute of Culinary Education, Chef Miguel Trinidad was picked to be the Executive Chef at the esteemed Soho hotspot, Lola. Building on his success there, Trinidad launched and helmed Maharlika, and then Jeepney. These two Filipino restaurants introduced New Yorkers to the true depth of Filipino cuisine and helped to redefine it in a city known for its culinary diversity and innovation. These two restaurants garnered numerous accolades and recognition from publications such as The New York Times, Michelin Guide, and James Beard. Last year, Chef Miguel opened his newest venture, a modern Italian restaurant – Marie’s – in Bushwick.
Chef Miguel is also a recognizable figure in media – co hosting Bong Appetit on Vice TV, appearing on Beat Bobby Flay, as well as features on The View, CBS Sunday Morning, NBC, Fox, ABC, and GMA Network. He is also co-author of the New York Times bestselling cookbook “I Am A Filipino.”

99th Floor
In 2014 Chef Miguel pioneered a second culinary frontier when he started 99th Floor, an underground cannabis fine-dining series that grew into a touchstone for post-prohibition New York City cannabis culture.
It was featured on the cover of the New York Times Metropolitan section, Food & Wine, The New Yorker, and on multiple CBS Sunday Morning specials.
